On Monday, the GJKKO Appeal upheld the decision to confiscate the assets of the former judge of the Supreme Court, Guxim Zenelajt, who is accused of false declaration of assets. 

On July 5, the Special Prosecutor's Office submitted the claim for the former judge of the Supreme Court, Guxim Zenelaj, requesting 1 year in prison.

SPAK requests that the former judge not be sent to prison, but placed on probation for a period of 24 months. 

SPAK demands that Zenelaj be found guilty of the charge "refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests and elected persons and public servants or any other person who has a legal obligation to declare".

In December 2022, SPAK confiscated 7 properties of the former judge of the Supreme Court, Guxim Zenelaj.

Zenelaj was seized 1000 meters of land in Porto Palermo and 2 garages in Ishull-Shëngjin. Also, 1 store and 3 apartments in Ishull-Shengjin have been seized from him.

We recall that Zenelaj withdrew from the justice system as soon as his mandate ended in 2017 before moving to the vetting filter.

In 2016, he declared 18 apartments and three construction units in Shengjin Island, Lezhë./ CNA
