The Practical Testing Ground for driving licenses is the next investment of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services.

The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, while closely inspecting the investment, first conveyed her congratulations to the new director of DPSHTRR, Ilir Mêngra, also expressing confidence in the continuation of the good work done in this institution, which offers a large number of services to citizens.

Speaking about the investment made, director Mêngra emphasized that this intervention provides a solution to a long-standing problem and already offers high security and transparency conditions.

"Before coming to this track, which is the Practical Testing Ground for driving license and the Digital Educational Center of Virtual Simulations, we had great difficulties in terms of practical testing in the parking phase. Due to the fact that there was no track, we were forced to go through informal premises in Tirana", said Mêngra, adding that the investment made extends to a track of about 6 thousand square meters, with funds covered by the budget of DPSHTRR.

124 tests are performed every day at this training ground, while there are over 130,000 tests in the span of a year.

Minister Balluku said that thanks to the work and investments made, DPSHTRR has significantly increased the standard and quality of service to citizens, becoming an example for the innovations that have brought relief to citizens.

"DPSHTRR has definitely created a new standard, a standard that I often take for example for all other companies, how innovation should work, how the companies themselves should be able to bring in income, income which will then be translated into investments, as we have done in the case of DPSHTRR. I take the opportunity here to thank my colleague, the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, who has undoubtedly been the initiator and main motivator of all the changes that have come to DPSHTRR. I would mention this next, as we always talk about the innovations that have come, but something very important for citizens who are drivers is the decision that was taken last year regarding the 15-year license", said Balluku.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy underlined the fact of the importance of continuing investments, already having technology as a priority, its application to bring the quality of service to an even higher level.

"We must continue to make the investments we have started. We must continue to prioritize innovation, as innovation is also a priority of the Albanian Government, especially for the year 2024 with a ministry that has a sector dedicated to innovation and with a completely new agency headed by a lady who has returned from America. Thus, a team made together with a single goal to serve our citizens and to bring as many services as possible that offer our people the best in conditions, technology and above all at prices that lower as DPSHTRR has done since the first day", emphasized Balluku.

The Practical Test Range for driving license and the Digital Educational Center of Virtual Simulations is located in the area of ??Fushë Preza in Tirana. About 111 driving schools, registered in DRSHTRR Tirana, whose candidates are tested near this training ground./CNA
