Arrests in Shkodra/ PSD reacts

The PSD has reacted to news reported in the media about the arrests of several PSD exponents from today's checks in Shkodra.

PSD denies that there are any arrested exponents but states that the only person whose home was searched is the PSD Chairman for Malësia e Madhe, Mr. Ardian Hysa. According to PSD, based on the minutes issued by SPAK, it turns out that nothing illegal was found in his home and work environment.

PSD calls other details given in the media slander and deliberate disinformation.

"Regarding some news made public and distributed in various media outlets, regarding the involvement in illegal electoral activities of some members of the PSD electoral headquarters in the north of the country, the Social Democratic Party denies any such news. It is deliberate and malicious disinformation.

The news is untrue and speculative; they are direct attacks on the PSD, since none of our members have been involved in electoral crimes. There was no police or BKH presence in any headquarters, in any electoral office. These are monstrous and unacceptable slanders.

We support SPAK indisputably, and have even made frequent statements and calls for SPAK and GJKKO to investigate any electoral crime. Furthermore, PSD has requested the assistance and support of the relevant authorities to take seriously the complaints of citizens in the Shkodra Region and to vigorously investigate any violation of the law regarding electoral crimes.

The PSD has not had and does not have any connection with anyone else whose offices or homes were searched. In the future, anyone involved in such electoral crimes must be held legally accountable and the PSD will immediately distance itself.

The only person whose home was searched is the Chairman of the PSD for Malësia e Madhe, Mr. Ardian Hysa. According to the report issued by SPAK, it turns out that nothing illegal was found in his home and work environment. Mr. Hysa has been cooperative and has expressed his willingness to be at the disposal of law enforcement agencies.
