"30 million euro fund for agriculture"/ Malaj: We will approve the new

Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj, in a statement to the media, announced that the new Sovereign Guarantee scheme will be approved, which for the first time will support the agricultural sector with a fund of 30 million euros.

"The potential in this sector exists, as does the will. Together we must promote increased access to finance. In recent years, the Albanian government, through four sovereign guarantees, has supported different sectors of the economy. We will adopt a new Sovereign Guarantee scheme that will support the agricultural sector for the first time with a fund of 30 million euros.

Only through broad and organized participation of small and medium-sized businesses, supported by a more active and proactive banking system, will we be able to ensure a real and effective outreach of this initiative, ensuring that funds go where they are most needed and where the impact is greatest.

The Albanian government, especially the Ministry of Finance, is committed to creating the right financial, legal and regulatory environment in order to encourage investments in priority sectors of economic development. The Sovereign Guarantee for Agriculture is just one of the steps and its success depends on the commitment of each of us.

"I express my full conviction that by working together we will be able to build a new development model that will serve us to make our agriculture more competitive, also within the framework of the European integration process," said the minister./ CNA
