Controversy in the Superiore, Egnatia retires from the field after red card

The match between Egnatia and Vllaznia was accompanied by high tensions that led to the home team temporarily leaving the field.

The reason for this situation was the red card sent off to defender Xhemajli in the 73rd minute of the match. Egnatia players and staff protested the decision for a long time, forcing the referee to review the incident through the VAR system.

Even after consulting with the technology, the referee remained steadfast in his initial decision to send off the player. After several minutes of tension, the Rrogozhina team agreed to return to the game to continue the rest of the match.

The incident occurred in the presence of the president of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, who was watching the match from the stadium stands. The match between the two leading teams of the championship continued with a goalless draw.
