Milan secures second approach, a Spaniard for the defense

Milan have closed the deal with Lazio for the transfer of Spanish defender Mario Gila.

The footballer was also on the radar of Massimiliano Allegri's Napoli, but the Rossoneri managed to secure his signature.

Initially, Lazio rejected an offer of €25 million plus €2 million in bonuses. After new negotiations, the clubs found an agreement on a fixed basis of €27 to €28 million.

With the bonuses foreseen, the operation is expected to reach a total value of 30 million euros. A significant part of the amount was also necessary due to the fact that 50% of the sale belongs to Real Madrid.

Mario Gila will sign a five-year contract worth around 4.5 million euros per season. The defender is expected to join Milan next week, ahead of the start of the training camp under Ruben Amorim.
