Lando Norris, Formula 1 world champion. Verstappen loses by two points  

Lando Norris is the new Formula 1 champion. The McLaren driver won the world championship title for the first time.

Max Verstappen won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, ending the season with his eighth victory, but missed out on the title by two points to Norris.

In the Abu Dhabi race, Lando Norris finished third behind teammate Oscar Piastri, thanks to McLaren's tactical management. The race was dominated on track by Verstappen, while the two McLaren drivers maintained the pace needed to secure Norris the title.

Ferrari ended a difficult season with fourth place for Charles Leclerc, while George Russell finished behind him in Mercedes. Key moments of the race were the contact between Norris and Tsunoda, which resulted in a penalty for the Japanese driver, as well as McLaren's strategy to cover Leclerc during pit stops.

Fernando Alonso finished sixth, while Ocon, Hamilton, Bearman and Hulkenberg rounded out the points. Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished 13th with a lackluster performance.
