HISTORICAL! Lionel Messi celebrates, Inter Miami wins the title for the first time

Inter Miami won the MLS title for the first time, defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1.

The home team took an early lead in the 8th minute, following an own goal by Edier Ocampo. Vancouver responded and created several dangerous chances with Brian White, Emmanuel Sabbi and Thomas Muller, but goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo kept a clean sheet.

Early in the second half, Ali Ahmed tied the score at 1-1 after a mistake by the home goalkeeper. The Whitecaps had chances to go ahead, but failed. Inter Miami regained control when Lionel Messi won the ball and set up Rodrigo De Paul, who scored to make it 2-1.

In extra time, Tadeo Allende sealed the victory after a built-up move by Alba and Messi.

With this success, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets ended their careers with one last trophy.
