Atalanta qualifies after dramatic finish, Dortmund "falls" in Italy

Atalanta pulled off a historic upset at the Gewiss Stadium, securing a place in the last 16 of the Champions League after a spectacular 4-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

The Italians managed to overturn a 0-2 first-leg deficit in an evening that will long be remembered.

The challenge started with momentum for Palladino's boys, who found the net in the 5th minute with Gianluca Scamacca, while Zappacosta doubled the score before the first half ended.

Mario Pasalic scored the third goal that created the illusion of an easy qualification, but Karim Adeyemi silenced the stadium in the 75th minute, equalizing the aggregate score and sending the match into extra time.

However, the drama was reserved for the final minutes of extra time. In the 98th minute, a penalty caused by the German defense was converted into a goal by Lazar Samardzic, who executed accurately, sealing the qualification of "Deas" and sparking legitimate celebrations in Bergamo.
