Bitter elimination, Inter loses financially

Inter's elimination from the Champions League came after two matches where problems in play and efficiency were evident.

The first defeat to Bodo/Glimt was followed by a 1-2 defeat at home, confirming the difficulties. The team led by Cristian Chivu created chances, but lacked concreteness.

The Norwegians took advantage of the mistakes and maintained their organization throughout the match. Inter only managed one goal, with Alessandro Bastoni at the end, despite 24 shots on goal. Lautaro Martinez was sorely missed, while several starters were not in their best form.

The elimination also has a financial impact, with around 71 million euros in revenue from UEFA this season. Compared to last season, the income is significantly lower, as the Italians will collect 65 million euros less.
