A large fire engulfed a stable in the village of Ravonik, Korça, this morning, causing extensive damage and leaving its owner in great financial difficulties.

Daniel Frashëri, who had invested in this farm for two years, was faced with the grim sight of his burnt stable. He says he had over 30 pigs, all of which were burned, while everything else, including his food supply and investments, was completely destroyed.

"When I arrived, I found the fire, all the livestock was on fire. The livestock was burned, the food base, everything was burned. I had over 30 pigs, they all burned down. There was nothing left, as you can see for yourself. I was really worried about this, I am divorced with two children, I have sole custody and it was something that I had wasted money on, expenses for over 2 years. They haven't given me any explanation, we are waiting for the expert to do it. I don't believe it was intentional, because there are a lot of dogs here and no one can enter. I don't know where the fire came from, it could even be intentional," the owner says.

With economic aid of only 45 thousand old lek, he calls on institutions and the municipality for help, as his damage is estimated at around 10 million lek.

"I've been here for two years, I took out a loan somewhere, 5 million to start with, then in two years I've been investing continuously. The damage is somewhere around 10 million lek. I'm asking for help from the municipality. I have nothing to do. I don't have any other income except an economic aid of 45 thousand lek (old). I'm asking the municipality and institutions to help me because I have nothing else to do," says the owner.

The causes of the fire remain unclear, while authorities are conducting investigations to determine its origin. /CNA
