While the elections for the new mayor are taking place in Himare, Fredi Beleri is in the cell.

In a post on social networks, he says that his heart is in Himare, where members of the Greek ethnic minority are fighting the final fight for democracy and their rights. 

He is determined that they will win the Municipality of Himara and has a call for all residents to participate in the voting.

Polls are now open!  My heart is in Himare today. Where today the members of the Greek ethnic minority are fighting the final battle for Democracy and their rights. From the cell of the Albanian prison where I have been staying for 425 days, my thoughts all day will be with my brothers and all those who understand that the rule of law and democracy are non-negotiable. With all those who have expressed their sympathy and stood by me through this ordeal.

With all those who did not bow to the methods of the coup and pre-democratic logic and today they will prove it once again.

Success from the heart of Petro Gjikurija. He already proved to be a techno worthy of Himara. I am sure that his hands will guide our City Hall safely tomorrow. And one last appeal: Go to the polls. History is written by those who participate. Good vote then!/ CNA
