Today there is election silence in the Municipality of Himara, while tomorrow the election process for the selection of the mayor will begin. 

The two candidates in the race are Vangjel Tavo and Petro Gjikuria, who had about a week to campaign. While today, which is election silence, the reactions or statements of political parties and subjects with which they are represented in the competition are prohibited.

But this rule was violated by Petro Gjikuria, who made several posts about the electoral race on his Facebook account. 

From an observation of Gjikuria's profile, there are posts in Albanian and Greek, which show Gjikuria's commitments and proposals for Himara.

"Thank you for the support, for the trust. We continue, stronger and stronger for the next day in the Municipality of Himara!", writes Gjikuria in one of the posts. 

Over 23 thousand citizens of Himara with the right to vote will vote on Sunday, August 4. 

In the 36 Voting Centers set up in this municipality, voters will choose between Vangjel Tavos, candidate of the Socialist Party, and Petro Gjikurija, candidate of the "Together We Win" coalition, selected by the Union Party for Human Rights.

The process will start at 7:00 am and end at 7:00 pm.

It is learned that the entire material base that will be used for Sunday's voting has arrived at the Himara CEZ. /CNA
