For citizens who have expired identity cards and cannot vote in Himarë-Fshat, the CEC has also reacted. 

?The Central Election Commission draws attention that it is not the competent body to postpone the validity of identification documents.

The notice emphasizes that "For voters over 75 years of age, the validity of identification documents is indefinite. This is defined in Law No. 89/2020, dated 09.07.2020 "On an amendment to Law No. 8952, dated 10.10.2002 "On the identity card electronic of Albanian citizens", amended". 

Regarding this problem, Vangjel Tavo said that this is not his problem, but it is a legal issue and that no one is above the law. 

The voting process in Himare has started since 07:00 this morning and is expected to end at 19:00. 

In the voting centers, which are 36 in total, the election materials arrived 2 days ago, while the CEC distributed them in the early hours of Saturday morning.

In Himara, only electronic identification is applied and the polling stations will be monitored by cameras, just like in every election. /CNA
