The branch of Omonia in Himarë, through a statement, has reacted to the problem with expired identity cards in Himarë-Fshat.

In the reaction, it is emphasized that dozens of voters were denied the right to vote with the claim of expired identification documents.

"The state-owned company for the production of identity cards was placed at the service of the Socialist Party during the last few days, serving the citizens in a selective manner. Members of the SP had their documents renewed in an organized manner within 24 hours, while other citizens were asked to appear after 15 days", says the reaction.

Full reaction:

Since the start of the election process in the Himarë Municipality, at the insistence of the commissioners of the Socialist Party, dozens of voters have been denied the right to vote with the claim of expired identification documents.

Contrary to the practices applied in previous election processes, Prime Minister Rama refused to issue the relevant legal acts that would guarantee the right to vote for all voters.

The state-owned company for the production of identity cards had been put in the service of the Socialist Party in recent days, serving the citizens in a selective manner. Members of the SP had their documents renewed in an organized manner within 24 hours, while other citizens were asked to appear after 15 days.

In total, out of 23,074 registered voters, 6,157 are a priori deprived of the right to vote by decision and responsibility of the Rama Government./CNA
