The opposition candidate for mayor of Himara, Petro Gjikuria, voted today in a VC in Dhërmi.
After the voting process, in a statement to journalists, he said that the treatment of citizens in Himara has been differentiated regarding expired cards.
"Last year they were allowed to vote with expired cards, but this time they were not allowed to vote. This is a problem that even the treatment of citizens was differentiated; the socialists were given cards within 24 hours, while the others were told for two weeks. This is not campaign work. They left us in a week of campaigning. For 10 days I wandered from village to village, we talked with the citizens, it was not the problem of the cards. They left the cards that expired last year. Here they make the laws as they want. They calculate the numbers and make the laws as they want."
Gjikura further emphasized that this will not affect the outcome of the elections.
"I don't think it will affect the result. It will be a good result. The Together We Win coalition will win this time. Democracy will win", he said./ CNA
