May 11th Elections/ Alimehmeti analyzes the OSCE report: It was accepted that

The DP's coordinator for Tirana, Ilir Alimehmeti, spoke this evening regarding the OSCE/ODIHR final report on the May 11 elections. In a television appearance, Alimehmeti focused on some of the points in the report.

The point where it is stated that "the ruling party benefited from the extensive use of administrative resources and institutional influence, blurring the separation between the state and the party", shows, according to the democrat, that the party and the state do not have a boundary between them.

"When they say that the competition is unequal and there is no distinction between the state and the party, they have said the strongest words they have, because that is how they speak. They speak in diplomatic language ," he said.

Alimehmeti also touched on another point related to the concern about the buying and selling of citizens' will. According to him, Albanian citizens know very well who, between the majority and the opposition, has the power to buy votes in our country.

"Are there any Albanians who don't know who has the power to buy votes in Albania? Where are all the powers gathered? Albanians know it very well. I know it very well, I was in the campaign, I was in the field and I come from the field even today as we speak."

In any area where you sit for coffee, sit at a table, they can easily tell you how much you buy, how much you bought in total, and so on and so forth. If we think that the power of the party-state is comparable to the power of the opposition, in monetary terms, then truly none of us live in Albania, we all live on the Moon, on Mars, or who knows where else.

To make an attempt, it means having a bag of money behind you. Now, who has a bag of money behind you? I didn't have it, let's be very clear. On the other side of the race, there were also some SP ministers. Who do you think has the economic power and the greatest support of the administration from behind. Do I have it? Or do the ministers have it?" he said. /CNA
