Enver Hoxha on the list of personalities/ Këlliçi requests the Parliament: Peleshi to take a stand

The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has today issued another reaction regarding the serious incident that occurred yesterday at the Court of Appeals where judge Astrit Kalaja was shot dead. Bardhi has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and Interior Minister Albana Koçiu of lying to citizens regarding the role of the police in court security.
Bardhi writes that Rama and Koçiu lied when they stated that the State Police has no responsibility under the law for controlling entry and exit to courts. According to him, this misinformation by the Prime Minister and the Minister shows a lack of sensitivity towards the serious event that shocked public opinion.
He added that another manipulation of the truth was made by Minister Koçiu when she said that the State Police had intervened and arrested the perpetrator, while adding that the footage published today in the media showed the opposite, as it was the perpetrator who had told the officers himself about the crime he had committed.
Bardhi has called on SPAK prosecutors to investigate the responsibilities of Interior Ministers and State Police directors since 2023, whom he said have abused their office and brought about very serious events such as the murder of a judge.
Full post:
Yesterday, after the serious and shocking event of the murder of a judge in the courtroom and while on duty, first the Prime Minister and then the Minister of Interior, publicly lied to public opinion, hiding the role of the State Police in court security.
The Prime Minister spoke about private guards, while the Minister of Interior, in order to manipulate the broad public opinion that rightly asked the question "how did an armed person manage to enter the courthouse premises", lied publicly by declaring that the State Police has no responsibility under the law for controlling entry and exit to the courts.
This is a LIE!
It is disinformation aimed at criminally covering up the truth about the serious event, which revealed how insecure citizens, including judges, are in their workplaces, due to the State Police's flight in an unknown direction.
As the High Judicial Council has made public today, according to the legislation in force, decision no. 333, dated 28.4.2010 of the Council of Ministers “On the preservation and security of state facilities” and decision no. 538, dated 8.7.2020 “On the determination of criteria and procedures for guaranteeing order and security in courts and prosecutor's offices”, the State Police is responsible for security in the courts. For every professional, or even citizen, who has been to the Court of Appeal, has found that in the entry-exit regime there are always State Police employees present, who also exercise physical control over deputies when they enter the court premises, but they did not do this against the murderer.
The Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior's lie is not simply disinformation or manipulation, but a high act of irresponsibility that shows the minimal lack of sensitivity towards the serious act that has shocked the entire Albanian and international public opinion.
The negligence in carrying out the duty of the State Police becomes even more serious when you look at the official correspondence between the High Judicial Council - the State Police - the Ministry of Interior today. The High Judicial Council asks the State Police to implement the law and take measures to guarantee security in the courts due to the increase in cases of threats against judges in the performance of their duties, and with the greatest irresponsibility, the Minister of Interior and the State Police refuse to fulfill their legal responsibility with the argument "we do not have sufficient human resources".
The manipulation of the truth by the Minister of Interior continued even further, when he declared that the State Police had intervened immediately and arrested the perpetrator. The images made public today by the media proved the complete opposite. It was the perpetrator of this serious crime who was calling for State Police officers to arrest him. So it was not the intervention of the Police, but the surrender, that led to the perpetrator's arrest.
Until yesterday, we were in the political responsibility that the Minister of Interior had for security in the courts. Today, after the attempt to manipulate the state responsibility of the State Police and the truth about the event, the Minister of Interior has shown institutional irresponsibility, a minimal lack of state and human sensitivity, which makes his resignation from office more urgent than ever.
I appeal to SPAK prosecutors to investigate the role and unfulfilled responsibilities of the Ministers of Interior and the General Directors of the State Police from 2023 onwards, who, with their inactions in violation of the law, have abused their office with very serious consequences, such as the murder of a judge in office./CNA
