Albania a full member of SEPA/ Rama: Citizens will save 20 million euros per year

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted regarding Albania's full membership in SEPA and the launch of transfers in euros with EU countries.

Rama writes that this is very good news and that citizens and businesses will now make transfers with the same rules as in the European Union.

Rama brings the forecast of the Bank of Albania and declares that in the first year alone, a saving of around 20 million euros per year is expected for Albanian citizens and businesses.

"The path to membership and success in negotiations bring very good news.

From today, October 7, Albanian citizens and businesses can make transfers in euros with EU countries with much lower commissions and with the same rules as in the EU.

Rama brings the forecast of the Bank of Albania and declares that in the first year alone, a saving of around 20 million euros per year is expected for Albanian citizens and businesses.

"Albania is now a full member of SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) and Albanians will pay the same commissions for transfers within the country, according to the Bank of Albania's assessment, in the first year alone a saving of around 20 million euros per year is expected for Albanian citizens and businesses," Rama writes./ CNA
