Journalist Armand Shkullaku today accused the executive branch of interfering and attacking the judiciary even though it is not part of its role.

Invited to 'Syri Tv', Shkullaku stated that the judicial problems over properties that have been developing for years in Albania are all part of the conviction and actions of judges, some of whom are those mentioned by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Shkullaku said that justice should not be another weapon to strike the opponent according to conjunctures.

"We have cases where it has been requested to seize, demolish property, confiscate property. The judges have acted according to their conviction and decision, which the law recognizes, and the prime minister has come out and said that this is criminal, they are taking away the rights of citizens, they are legalizing property unfairly. This is not the role of the executive.

We are probably the only country where, when a property of extraordinary value is destroyed and after it is destroyed, the case goes to court. It goes without saying that the judge will say, "I have nothing to judge, that the fact has collapsed." This is how far the executive has intervened in matters that belonged to the courts.

"We have carried out a justice reform that aimed more at the spectacular aspect, to show that the untouchables will be punished here, a reform financed by internationals to give politics in Albania another weapon to hit the opponent according to the conjunctures," said Shkullaku. /CNA
