Tirana Municipal Elections/Boçi: Independent candidate increases

Democratic MP, Luciano Boçi, declared today that for the Democratic Party and the opposition, an unelected candidate for the Tirana Mayoral race is a finding that increases the chances of victory. 

In a television appearance, Boçi said that such a candidate is needed by society, and even more so by the gray electorate.

Boçi added that the current political situation pushes citizens further towards overcoming vote capitalization.

 "I say that an independent candidate is a finding that increases the possibility of a possible victory for a party that is known for how it gets votes. For some, it seems even more vulnerable because it has no protective mechanisms because it is not political. The way of doing the campaign will come from the supporting part of the DP. It is not only for the parties, but also for society. Our society has been politicized. It has been opposed to political and non-political figures. Even though they have been important figures in their professions. And for this they have not had support. They wanted to see someone like them. They have reached a point where everyone is looking for it. And the gray layer has always been demanding this format. By judging political parties, it also judges the candidate. And this gray layer, I find more motivated to go to the ballot boxes. In this criminal situation, it is society itself that uses force and overcomes the capitalization of the vote. The process is close, possible and not everything depends on us. In this case, it is also the commitment of the opposition for the candidate," said Boçi./ CNA
