Von der Leyen meets the leaders of the Balkans / Present, Rama and Kurti

The leaders of the six countries of the Western Balkans, including Prime Minister Edi Rama and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, were received at a working lunch in Brussels by the re-elected president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

They have asked the new European Commission for a concrete roadmap with defined timelines for the EU membership process in the next five years.

Albania has presented a concrete reform agenda with the aim of achieving full membership before 2030. The head of government intends for the Second Intergovernmental Conference to be held in October to be followed by another one by the end of this year.

In this Thursday's meeting of the Balkan leaders with the EC president, Ursula von der Leyen, they also discussed the allocation of funds for our region within the economic growth plan of 6 billion Euros.

Von der Leyen has already appointed the Slovenian Marta Kos as special commissioner for enlargement./ CNA
