200 tons of chemical waste near the school in Balëz/Dizdari, appeal to the

The member of the National Council of the DP, Fjoralba Dizdari, in a statement to the media, denounced the danger that threatens the residents of the village of Balëz in Elbasan.

Dizdari stated that 200 tons of chemical waste are accumulated near institutions such as schools and health centers.

"Along with the lessons, the children of Balza receive a dose of poison every day for free from the government. This has been happening for years and the fact that there is no measure to move the chemicals proves the insensitivity of Renaissance to the lives of the children and residents of Balza, Elbasan and the whole country. Surely the Municipality of Llatje and the government of Rama consider this as part of the "Albania 2030" project", said Dizdari.

Furthermore, the member of the National Council of the DP, Fjoralba Dizdari, has called on the institutions to take measures for this danger that threatens the residents of Balza who are facing health problems that come from these wastes.

While the scandal of hazardous waste, which is on its way back to the port of Durrës, has not yet been closed, today we are making public another shocking fact related to hazardous waste and children's health.

About 200 tons of chemical waste, including cyanide and arsenic, are located next to a school wall in the village of Balëz in Elbasan.

As this photo shows, the Balza school with hundreds of students and the partition wall of the warehouse that collects hazardous waste are clearly visible.

Along with the lessons, the children of Balza receive a dose of poison every day for free from the government. This has been happening for years and the fact that there is no measure to move the chemicals proves the insensitivity of Renaissance to the lives of the children and residents of Balza, Elbasan and the whole country. Surely the Municipality of Llatje and the government of Rama consider this as part of the "Albania 2030" project.

The "Chemical Collection and Treatment Center" behind the school yard, in the center of Balëz village, is located about 2.5 km away from two important institutions of Elbasan, the hospital and the "Aleksandër Xhuvani" University.

The village of Balëz has over 1000 inhabitants and their biggest concern is that these warehouses are next to the school, the nursery school and the health center.

Children, but also adults, have shown health problems such as allergies, breathing problems, psychological problems, but there are also fatal diseases.

All this proves that, despite the claimed storage conditions, these substances evaporate and disperse in the air, or precipitate on the ground where they pollute the soil and the waters below it.

Residents of the area complain that the land and water of their wells are poisoned by dangerous agents and, as a result, the crops are scarce and suspected to be dangerous.

The Democratic Party calls on the responsible institutions to take measures to resolve this situation. The government has turned Elbasan and the surrounding areas into a hazardous waste collection center, a scrap city, a place where tires are massively burned, where solar factories work, where the air is polluted.
