Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a post on social media, has given a message for the start of the new school year. Rama wished success to the students who start the new school year 2025-2026 today.
" GOOD MORNING"
"and wishing success to the 345 thousand students who sit at school desks today, and those 26,500 first grade students who begin the beautiful path of knowledge today, I wish you a good week ," Rama writes.
The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, also gave a message for the start of the new school year. Manastirliu wished success to students and teachers and thanked parents for their cooperation.
The Minister also focused on all those children who are sitting on the benches for the first time, for whom she said that today they open a new window towards knowledge.
Dear students, teachers and parents!
Today is a special day. A day that repeats itself every year, but that always brings new emotions. It is the first day of school. A day that reminds us that education is the beginning of every beautiful path, of every dream we want to realize.
On this September morning, we all share a strong symbolism for children who are taking their first step into first grade. For over 26,500 students, this day is the newest window that opens today towards knowledge. Today's bags are filled not only with new books, but also with dreams, curiosity and the joy of a beautiful journey that begins at school desks.
Today, dear parents, you hand over your most precious ones to the school. Thank you for your trust and cooperation. Together, we are partners in educating the new generation, building on your love for your children a strong foundation for their future.
Dear teachers,
You are the foundation of every success our country achieves in the field of education. With your dedication and professionalism, you don't just teach math, language, science, or art. You teach values, you teach hope, you teach responsibility, and we are proud of the work of each of you.
This new school year brings important news. 30 new and rehabilitated schools welcome children who return to their classrooms with the best standards. We have continued the work, we have done our best to reorganize and make the return to school as enjoyable as possible for you.
We already have 340 smart labs in schools, where students can experiment, create and use modern technology to learn better, and we are working to increase the number of smart labs in schools to 1,000. For the first time, we have included the basic notions of artificial intelligence in the ICT curriculum from grade 4, preparing students for a world where knowledge and technology go hand in hand.
We are also launching a new program for professional development for teachers, which will help them expand their skills on digital platforms and respond to the needs of the new generation. Better prepared teachers mean better students and a better quality school.
But education is not just about technology and reform. Education is above all about people. For this reason, we are preparing to strengthen psychosocial support for students, helping them to be even safer and more involved in a calm and friendly school environment.
This year, we will have 340 security officers in schools, about 100 more than last year, working according to updated protocols and standards. This means more guarantees for school safety.
930 psychologists and social workers will be available to students to address any of their social or emotional needs.
For students with special needs, we have increased the number of teaching assistants. 2,260 teaching assistants will support these students with special needs according to personalized plans in their support at school.
Our schools are increasingly becoming spaces where students develop their talents and are more engaged and connected to the community.
300 schools offer the "Arts and Crafts" program, while over 12 thousand students will be part of the school sports team program, including chess for the first time in addition to basketball and volleyball.
As you know, school is not just about classroom learning; this year, school will be a screen, a stage where our students will showcase their talents in the competitions we are holding for the first time this year. In the National Theater Competition, which will foster creativity, self-confidence, teamwork, and will bring students another valuable cultural and educational experience.
For the first time, we will hold the Science Festival for high schools, to encourage students to experiment with new ideas and experience science as creation and adventure. We will continue with the 4th edition of the National Language Competition, the organization of which has already become a beautiful tradition.
Dear students,
I am convinced that this year for each of you will be an extraordinary experience that you will experience surrounded by fantastic friends, with teachers ready to support you in every step of your way, and with parents, who I am convinced that you will make so proud of your achievements.
On behalf of the entire education system, I wish you all a prosperous year, filled with success, knowledge, and joy.
