"Open balcony over the Mediterranean"/ Rama: New management scheme for

Prime Minister Edi Rama today described Albania as an open balcony over the Mediterranean, while referring to its cultural heritage.

Through a post on social media, Rama shared figures, emphasizing that over 1 million visitors have seen the country's forts, museums and archaeological parks up close.

Rama adds that these archaeological and historical sites will soon be included in a new management scheme, with the aim of promoting heritage internationally.

"Albania, today, is an open balcony over the Mediterranean, a museum under the sky, where every stone tells a story, every street is a chapter of our living heritage.

Over 1 million visitors have entered and experienced history in the country's forts, museums and archaeological parks, +58% more than in 2023, bringing an 84% increase in revenue, thanks to good management.

"In this journey, the forts and archaeological parks will be included in a new management scheme, which aims not only at restoration and conservation, but also at creating contemporary infrastructure for visitors, new cultural itineraries and a broader international promotion of heritage," Rama writes. /CNA
