Constitutional Court decision on Veliaj/Gjikondi: He cannot exercise his duties,

Lawyer Brizida Gjikondi spoke in a television appearance about the Constitutional Court's decision to reinstate Erion Veliaj.

Gjikondi said that it makes no sense for him to return to duty, where he committed the criminal offenses for which he is accused.

Gjikondi further said that he cannot exercise his duties because he has committed 13 criminal offenses in that capacity.

" The criminal offenses he is charged with were committed during the exercise of his profession. Therefore, it makes no sense for him to return to work "at the scene of the crime". Veliaj's challenge is to face this situation. Not to hold Tirana hostage. So, if he had dealt with the criminal file, that is the genesis, that is also the cradle of the problem.

He cannot exercise it, from that position he committed those 13 crimes. And there is no logic in returning. He gave an emotional speech before the Constitutional Court, saying that he was kidnapped. We know that Mr. Veliaj has been accompanied without any restrictions... These decisions on the measure of arrest and the way in which pre-trial detention is imposed go with the criminal offenses you are charged with. But no one is dealing with the reality of these 13 criminal offenses. Even Mr. Veliaj himself ignores this part , "said Gjikondi./CNA
