Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a video on social networks, focused on the draft budget for healthcare.
Rama said that for 2026, the health budget will be over 1 billion euros, or about 4% of the national domestic product.
Focusing on drugs for cancer treatment, Rama declared that a funding line from the state budget will be opened. This means that an extra 15 million euros will be added to the service of Oncology patients.
" The 2026 draft budget with its over 1 billion euros for health and social welfare, nearly 4% of the national domestic product.
I am focusing on the fight against cancer due to the expensive drugs that this fight requires. For the first time, we are opening a funding line from the state budget for this vital need, introducing an extra 15 million euros to serve Oncology patients.
"For the first time, breast reconstruction services for women and girls who have cancer will be provided in full and free of charge ," said Rama.
