The member of the Municipal Council of Tirana, Ilir Alimehmeti, was this evening at the protest of the supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, where he made a call for SPAK.

Alimehmeti said that the Prosecutor's Office should send Berisha for trial, or let him go free.

He emphasized that there should be no middle ground and that Berisha should not be kept under "house arrest".

"For 141 days, an elected deputy, chairman of the Democratic Party, the chairman of the Opposition of Albania has been under house arrest. For what charge? Raise the case, take him to court, give him a trial or let Dr. Berisha go free. There is no middle ground.

We have a woman who gave 17 VKM in one day which SPAK does not see, which are not judged, which are for abuse of duty. They are tried in a free state. We must be very clear. Justice does not come by itself, justice is taken", underlined Alimehmeti./ CNA
