Data from Eurostat/ Muçollari raises the alarm: Albanian families are on
Member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari

The member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari, raised the concern about the high prices in the country, for one of the peoples with the lowest incomes in Europe.

From the blue headquarters, Muçollari said that Albanian families are at the limits of survival, but have higher costs than the European average.

With figures, Muçollari showed how much more Albanians pay.

He stated that the government and its head, Edi Rama, prioritize personal enrichment and the clients around him.

Full statement:

The latest data made public by Eurostat show the painful truth of our economy, which is the family economy. Although they have the lowest income in Europe, Albanian families are forced to buy many products more expensive than the European Union average.

Although we are a country that should have production from the agricultural sectors, the fact is that dairy products for an Albanian family cost 20 percent more than the European Union average.

Which means, if a family member in Albania buys 1 kg of cheese on average for 12 euros, a family member in the EU buys it for 10 euros.

Other foods are 19 percent more expensive than the EU average.

Clothing is also 16 percent more expensive than in the EU.

Which means if you would buy a pair of sneakers for your children in Albania for 100 euros, in the EU you would get the same sneakers for 84 euros

Household appliances, for an Albanian family, are 37 percent more expensive than the European Union average.

Which means that an Albanian citizen would buy a washing machine for 450 euros, a citizen in the EU would buy the same washing machine for less than 300 euros.

All this, while our per capita income is the lowest in Europe, at 36 percent of the EU average.

This is the truth of the Albanian economy, of the quality of life.

The truth of poverty.

While Edi Rama boasts imaginary successes and counts the visitors who enter here, he has left the normal Albanian family at the limits of survival.

Even with the lowest income in Europe and the highest prices, Edi Rama did not undertake any increase in pensions, salaries, or economic aid, in the budget he just passed.

He prioritizes his own enrichment, and that of the clients around him.

A government that works for the people has every opportunity to protect the Albanian family, lift it out of poverty, and create well-being for its citizens.

The Democratic Party will set the threshold of the vital minimum of 200 euros, will double salaries and pensions, and will refund 100 percent of the VAT on basket goods for families in need./ CNA
