Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with the Albanian military and civilian staff this evening at the NATO offices in Brussels.

Rama joked with the Albanian members of NATO, telling them that they won their jobs without friends and cousins.

He stated that with their positions in NATO they have left Italian, German or English citizens without work.

"You contribute either to our mission or to NATO's international staff as part of it. This is definitely a reason for pride and inspiration. It is also a reason to believe in our nation, our society and the capacities of our country through a generation that today is not only a protagonist in Albania, but has excelled in the entire complex process for the opening of negotiations for EU membership, but also outside Albania, where a number of you here shine as part of the NATO international staff, where you were elected without any cousins, I don't believe you produced any cousins ??in Finland or the Netherlands, without any party.

Here, the only party that unites everyone is the party of the values ??of democracy and freedom. I am definitely glad that in this panorama I see our soldiers who, as it was said once upon a time, look like outsiders here. For truth's sake, to see from within the reality of this body of people is a privilege, for one sees not only the potential, but also the actual utilization of that potential. I am also a witness that in meetings with colleagues, counterparts from EU countries, I always and more often hear really nice words about you, about the people who represent us at the second and third levels of the Albanian state.

I might have taken these words as nice and complimentary of the circumstances, but I am aware that these words spring from a continuous and convincing improvement of our whole approach to them, but also of their approach to we. The latter has changed significantly as a result of many things that can be seen even from afar. Keep the job you've earned with tests and exams that are very rigorous. You are proud that who knows how many Italians, Germans, Englishmen, without counting the others around you, you have put out of work because you have taken their place. They may have found another job in the meantime, but you got the job you want," the head of government emphasized./ CNA
