A few months separate us from the next parliamentary elections, which will be held on May 11, 2025.

In relation to this issue, Commissioner Nancy VanHorn has called for the parties to engage constructively in a political process that is equal for all.

In its statement published by the American Embassy in Tirana, it is said that there will be no arrests with individuals determined to be involved in major corruption.

"A healthy opposition is a critically important part of a vibrant democracy. I appreciate the opportunities I have had in recent months to meet with various representatives of the opposition to hear a variety of perspectives on the challenges facing the Albanian people, concerns about the upcoming election environment and how Albania can build a future better.

I encourage all parties to engage constructively in a political process that is equal for all. We stand by our long-standing position that we do not engage with individuals determined to be involved in major corruption," said a statement from the Charge d'Affaires, Nancy VanHorn, published by the American Embassy in Tirana./CNA
