The head of the DP, Sali Berisha, has raised the concern that every pensioner today pays 500 euros of VAT for food.

He said that to avoid this when he comes to power, he will urgently establish a consumer card.

"The pensioner pays 480 or 500 euros of VAT for the food he consumes per month, he pays the same as the president of the Republic who receives over 5000 euros or Rama who comes close to him or Dumani.

Is there anything more inhuman than this? Within the framework of our program to reverse and narrow this great gap created in our society, I am coming out to inform the citizens that a consumer card will be urgently established that will refund 100% of the VAT of the basic basket products for each pensioner, family and invalid without exception. The card has two ways to proceed. One to lower the VAT or remove the VAT for food, but this again equalizes what you cannot equalize," Berisha said./ CNA
