The head of the DP for the Diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, in the framework of the International Day of Immigrants, says that this day is a call to honor their sacrifices.

In her post on social networks, the former Speaker writes that emigrants are the light and strength of Albanians. 

"Today is the day of remembrance, reflection and honor for all those who have abandoned everything to pursue a better life in a foreign land. Albanians know better than anyone what it means to be an immigrant.

Emigration for us has often been a way of salvation, but at the same time a story of tears, family separation and suffering. From speedboats across the Adriatic to long voyages across Europe and the world, we have experienced extraordinary losses, disappointments and challenges. But despite everything, Albanians wherever they are have shown strength, courage and dedication to build better lives for their families.

This day is a call not to forget the difficult path that thousands of Albanians have gone through. A call to honor their sacrifices and to never forget our roots, our culture and the dream for a better Albania.

To all Albanians everywhere in the world: You are our light and strength!", writes Topalli./ CNA
