Strong "slap" for the government/ Expert: Teachers and educators are

Education expert Ndriçim Mehmeti, in an interview with CNA, gave the government a very strong slap, saying that the salaries for teachers and educators are lower than the salary of a sanitary worker at the QSUT.

During his interview, the expert listed many problems encountered in education today, ranging from school infrastructure to the lack of training for teachers.

"We are prepared at the pedagogical level, but we are unprepared in the 12-year system. In this system, we suffer from some very big problems. We have poor school infrastructure, we do not have digitalized schools that respond to developments, which are today Artificial Intelligence and information and communication technology. As we saw in the last study, we had the lowest intelligence coefficient in the Balkans and Europe. We have unprepared teachers because there is no effective training, we do not have prepared special education teachers. We are trying but not at the levels we would like for children with different abilities and needs. We have unmotivating salaries. The average salary is not actually 900 euros, because in the 12-year system, those with many years of work receive 680 euros at most. And let's not forget that kindergarten educators and primary education teachers receive ridiculous salaries. Kindergarten salaries are lower than QSUT sanitation workers who receive 52 thousand lek, while in kindergarten they receive an average of 44 to 46 thousand lek. In primary education they receive a maximum of 630 euros per month", said expert Ndriçim Mehmeti./ CNA
