Education expert Ndriçim Mehmeti spoke about the problems encountered in education and how this sector has been managed by the government.
In an interview with CNA, expert Mehmeti stated that the government has failed after taking hasty measures without any kind of study on Education.
The expert emphasized that even Ms. Kushi's efforts to increase participation in so-called priority branches that never became priorities had no effect, as it was said that those with an average of 7.5 would also benefit, while only those with an average of 9.5 and above benefited.
Among other things, the expert commented on the government's promise of a European passport, saying that after failing with measures that purported to reform education, it is now telling students to pack their bags and go abroad.
He added that the government is expelling students and this is unacceptable.
"If you look at a series of measures that the government has introduced, starting with Mrs. Shahini, who is now forgotten as Minister of Education, because she brought it as an idea, I don't know where she got it from. The measures that she took not only brought a drastic decrease in the number of students, but did not bring quality. Even Mrs. Kushi's efforts to increase participation in so-called priority branches that never became priorities had no effect after it was said that those with an average of 7.5 would also benefit, only those with an average of 9.5 and above benefited. The government took measures hastily without any kind of study, resulting in a successful failure and did this to forget what was the biggest failure, the pact for the university that worked very little, while now another theory is emerging that we will make our students European. I can't understand this. Our students have been moving with the ERASMUS program for years. Since 1993, they go to Italy and are even treated with financial support, they go to Germany and win scholarships, they go to The US wins scholarships. They are right based on the fact that we are a country with candidate status for Europe and can go even in intermediate years to pursue studies abroad, of course there is a problem which is the fees. They are much cheaper when you are an EU citizen. But this has not prevented it. You cannot now tell the students we failed now pack your bags, we are giving you a European passport and go abroad. We are expelling our students. It is completely unacceptable", said expert Ndriçim Mehmeti for CNA./ CNA
