"We reduced public debt by 54%"/ Rama in Kukës: We have the

Prime Minister Edi Rama held an election meeting in Kukës this afternoon. In his speech, Rama also emphasized issues related to the country's economy.

Rama said that according to the Government's projection, in Albania in 2030 the Gross Domestic Product will reach 35 billion euros.

"I have brought some data and I want to start with GDP, which is all the value that the country creates, measured on the basis of every income generated in a country. GDP when we took office was less than 10 billion euros, at the end of 2024 it resulted in 25 billion euros and our projection that in Albania in 2030 GDP will reach 35 billion euros.

"So in a decade we have increased the gross national product 2 and a half times. It is an increase that is the highest in our region. Per capita income, we took office with a level of 3300 euros, in 2024 it reached 10300 euros and the projection for 2030 is to go to 15 thousand euros", said Rama.

Rama said that public debt has been reduced by 54%.

Regarding inflation, Rama stated that Albania ranks first with the lowest inflation rate in the region.

"Public debt is one of the key points for measuring the health of a country's economy and when we took office, Albania had a public debt of 70.4% and in addition to this official figure, we found a hidden debt that was the debt created towards companies. Where the debt was nearly 700 million euros at that time. Despite the fact that we went through two more moments where we were forced by the situation to increase the debt again, COVID and the earthquake, we have reduced the debt to 54% which is considered an average, normal level for a country like ours.

"Inflation, we know very well that price increases have been a global problem, but Albania has had the lowest inflation rate. According to IMF data, in the average inflation rate in the region over the last 10 years, Albania ranks first with the lowest inflation rate," Rama said./ CNA
