The Vice President of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, said today that many Albanian citizens and Albanian families are continuing to leave the country, despite the political rhetoric and emotional speeches made by the government.

Invited to 'Syri Tv', Boçi emphasized that the main reasons that push Albanians to leave are corruption and the lack of freedom in several areas, including political and economic freedom.

According to the democrat, in addition to the flight of the elite, today Albania faces another problem, which is related to the frightening decline in population.   

"Albanians continue to flee beyond beautiful rhetoric, beyond emotional speeches, because as I said, these summits are ruled by emotion and not by reason. The truth is completely dark and today as we speak, the greatest desire of young people, according to polls, is to leave the country. Today, the desire of young Albanian families is to leave because of the reality of governance, because of corruption and the lack of that freedom that starts from political freedom and up to economic freedoms, things that are tangible and verifiable. And, what proves it the most is the reaction of young people and the reaction of young families. But there is also no shortage of families that have perhaps built a kind of rhythm of life here, let's say, but they lack security, they lack the future of their children and they have decided to leave. While according to statistics, the elite has left, the most successful part of society has left and Albania has a frightening decline in population. We also notice this in the analyses we do in the framework of territorial reform, "where entire villages have been abandoned, entire areas have lost the weight of young people and entire cities in Albania have lost the fundamental contribution, the fundamental wealth that Albania had," said Boçi. /CNA
