The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, in the panel "Diaspora and representative democracy in the Albanian space: From votes to institutional representation", stated that institutional capacities need to be built for reports and communication findings between the diaspora and our countries.

Gashi said that coordination could be done between states that would serve the communities where these representations operate.

"We have our own problems. I think we need to build institutional capacities in our state and then of course it will reflect abroad. Maintaining relationships and finding communication between the diaspora and our states is immanent."

I think we can coordinate the countries of the region, where we have diplomatic representatives, coordination would be in function of the communities where these representations operate. In many countries of Western Europe and the USA, Albanian communities do not remain as isolated islands but find different organizations of their life. I think that an institutional connection and between the different organizations that the Albanian community in exile has established would be a good platform for supporting political figures who can be included in parliaments, local government and so on, linking with the words of Pelesh and Balla who mentioned the case of Michigan, we are aware that there are Albanians who have managed to enter the parliaments of the countries where they live, "said Gashi./ CNA
