Zhulali: Let's learn lessons from the elections in Hungary, counting in

The Head of the International Relations Department at the Democratic Party, Ilda Zhulali, said today that Albania can learn many lessons from Sunday's parliamentary elections in Hungary.

Invited to 'Syri Tv', Zhulali emphasized that in addition to the political rotation, the counting in record time are two elements that stood out, in a country that, according to her, despite the political irregularities in recent years, does not differ in typical problems like in the Western Balkans.

"The first lesson we can learn is that there were elections in Hungary. Although there were irregularities there, the main element that was missing was, for example, particularly present in Albania or even in Serbia, I'm taking these two typical countries of the Western Balkans, which is the connection with organized crime and the impossibility that it creates for political rotation.

So, the lack of participation of criminal organizations, and in Albania especially those related to drug trafficking, is the first element that stands out and that further undermines the electoral process in Albania.

The second is that, overall, from the start of the voting to the end, there were no irregularities that we see in Albania. For example, those who experienced these moments in Shkodra, with the armored cars driving around with scary people connected to crime, or the scenes in Elbasan that were denounced by Mr. Himçi, how the ballot boxes were taken and filled, these did not happen in Hungary.

There was also a very large participation of international observers, who did not notice any irregularities, at least in the voting process and then in the counting. Not to mention that the counting was completed in record time, something for which we continue to suffer, "said Zhulali. /CNA
