January 8, 2022 will be remembered by all as one of the most unprecedented events ever to occur within the Democratic Party family.

The scenes filmed on January 8, two years ago, could not be imagined by any democrat, sympathizer of this party, or even by the socialists themselves.

Everything happened 32 years after the founding of this party, which brought democracy, freedom, and political pluralism to the country. For all this, of course, there is an organizer, the culprit, who is Lulzim Basha.

Two years ago, Luli tried to get out of his lethargic sleep and take the leadership of the DP by force. He also had some of his collaborators with him, such as Salianj "the brave", or Bardh "the schemer".

His soldiers convinced Basha that the DP could be kept by armoring the blue headquarters with iron and sheets, or by locking the party leader's office with keys.

He was convinced by his "genius" advisors that he could keep the chair, even though the Democrats dismissed him from the post of Speaker in the Assembly on December 11, 2021.

It was this behavior of Basha that forced the Democrats to start protests to reclaim what belonged to them, the blue headquarters.

But what happened? What we saw was a fight between the democrats, calls and insults to Basha, tear gas and dozens escorted and arrested. The premises of the blue headquarters turned into a "battle arena" where there were clashes between the Democrats.

There was also an intervention by the state police, which started with arrests and escorts of democrats, defending Lul Basha's ideas. 34 democrats were arrested for violence, who were released a few days later.

What caused this situation?

The story begins on September 9, 2022, when Lulzim Basha suspended Sali Berisha, who had been declared "non grata" by America, from the parliamentary group. After Basha's decision, Berisha returned to his political activity, starting meetings with the base he called "Foltore".

On December 11, the Assembly convened by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha voted with 4,446 votes in favor of Basha's dismissal. Basha did not recognize this decision and in the Assembly of December 18, Berisha was expelled from all the leading institutions of the party that he himself founded.

What happened after January 8?

Accusations, counter-accusations, after January 8 from both sides. But on March 21, a decision came. Lulzim Basha, hopelessly left alone, resigned as head of the Democratic Party.

In a press conference from the PD headquarters in Tirana, he said that he resigned from the leadership of the party after unsuccessful efforts to keep the party united.

“Kam vendosur të bëj një hap pas dhe të jap dorëheqjen nga detyra. Demokratët janë të lodhur nga konflikti i brendshëm, nga fushatat dhe gjuha denigruese, nga e cila dëmtohet Partia Demokratike dhe Shqipëria dhe përfiton vetëm [kryeministri i Shqipërisë] Edi Rama dhe klika e tij”, u shpreh Basha.

Pak këtij vendimi, Berisha nisi lëvizjet për të marrë drejtimin e PD-së. Kjo parti doli me një njoftim në 13 maj të 2022 për kreun e PD-së, ku në garë ishin Sali Berisha dhe Ibsen Elezi, të cilët nisën takimet në bazë.

Më 22 maj të 2022, ish-Kryeministri Sali Berisha zgjidhet kryetar i Partisë Demokratike, 9 vite pasi u largua nga kjo detyrë. Ai mori shumicën e votave në të gjitha degët ku u votua sipas parimit “Një anëtar, një votë” përballë rivalit Ibsen Elezi.

Më pas Berisha u fut në selinë blu dhe nisi aktivitetin politik, ku nuk munguan edhe bashkëpunimet me partitë e tjera opozitare.

Në këtë kohë, Luli iu rikthye gjumit të tij letargjik dhe harroi "idealet" dhe synimet e tij. Filluan ta tradhtojnë edhe besnikët e tij, si Gazment Bardhi dhe Ervin Salianji.

Ky i fundit harroi shkopinjtë, por u pozicionua në krah të Berishës. E po kështu Bardhi, i cili pasi Basha e shkarkoi si kreu i Grupit Parlamentar, shkoi dhe gjeti hapësirë te PD-ja, mblodhi demokratë dhe u shpreh i vendosur për vijimin e aksionin opozitar. Madje Bardhi sulmoi publikisht Bashën dhe e akuzoi edhe për vila luksoze e lidhje me Ramën.

Salianji me shkop në dorë

Më pas në 2 dhjetor të vitit të kaluar, u mblodh edhe Kuvendi Kombëtar i PD-së, ku u bë edhe votëbesimi i kryetarit.

Situata sot

Lulzim Basha, një nga shkatërruesit më të mëdhenj të PD-së dhe mund ta themi me plot gojë që ka investuar për të dëmtuar këtë parti.

Sot ai njihet si kreu i PD-së së Vulës, e si ushtarë ka vetëm Enkelejd Alibeajn, Orjola Pampurin, Mirela Karabinën, Flutura Açkën, Jorida Tabakun, Kreshnik Çollakun.

Pra, të paktë janë demokratët në mbështetje të tij. Mbështetësit e tij po "tkurren" çdo ditë e më shumë, e Luli pritet të ngelet vetmitar, edhe pse herë pas here merr ndonjë fije shprese nga socialistët, apo ëndërron se mund të drejtojë partinë më të madhe opozitare.

Nga ana tjetër kemi një PD që po përballet me shumë sfida. Sali Berisha nën "arrest shtëpie", por ata shprehen të vendosur do të vijojë aksioni opozitar dhe do rrëzojnë Ramën nga qeveria.

Për demokratët Luli ngelet një bashkëpunëtor i Ramës, e Berisha një lider.

Midis tyre ka ende një proces gjyqësor për vulën dhe simbolet e PD-së, të cilat Basha ka tentuar t’ua rrëmbejë demokratëve.
