"No one cares about the crisis"/ Bozdo: High energy prices, we lack

Democratic MP Enno Bozdo said today that it is concerning that Albania has a high price for electricity, at a time when it is itself a producer.

Speaking about this issue in Parliament, Bozdo also stated that the lack of adequate energy reserves is also problematic, at a time when the conflict in the Middle East is still active.

According to the MP, these two elements directly affect national security, although according to him, the government is not taking them under consideration.

"If there is one country that deserves to lower the price of energy, it is Albania because it produces it almost for free, but its costs are inflated. They are almost twice as high compared to 2013. The costs of corruption, tenders and everything else are added. Of course, the price here is different. Of the price that every family pays, 50% goes to cover the costs of OSHEE. It has lost all its technical core and is among the public enterprises that are used in every election. We do not have a 90-day safety reserve, that is the issue. We have a crisis, but no one cares about the crisis. Ron Yafet is the person who has been assigned to solve the energy situation. The Energy Commissioner has 30 days to announce to prepare for an energy reserve. Even if the war in the Middle East ends tomorrow, it seems like at least 6 months to activate the reserves. Those who lied must answer before the law. We are dealing with an issue related to national security," said Bozdo. /CNA
