Fuel price increase/ Karakaçi: Support package for public transport to be

In today's plenary session, an interpellation was held with the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, requested by a group of opposition deputies regarding the price of oil in the country.

In his speech, Minister Karakaçi said that the measures taken for the current crisis are multifaceted, indicating that a support package for public transport is in the process of being approved. The package, according to the minister, is expected to be approved next week.

Karakaçi also stated that a working group has been established to control hydrocarbon reserves, which he said are in compliance with the legislation in force.

 

" We have good experience in dealing with situations, which we will use to overcome this crisis. The measures taken are multifaceted. The support package for intercity and city public transport is in the process of being approved, which is expected to be approved next week. Regarding the control of deposits for the proper conduct of security, a working group has been established whose task is to carry out field checks to see that hydrocarbon reserves are maintained. Security reserves are in compliance with the legislation in force.

The hydrocarbon security reserve is managed by state agencies and is made available when there is a shortage of the final product on the market. So far, Albania is not exposed to this risk.

"We have had all the discussions with the interest groups about this situation, to which we have responded in a timely manner ," Karakaçi said./CNA
