"Reforms are difficult, you need to be in our league"/ Kos: Member

Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Marta Kos, at a meeting with Western Balkan leaders in North Macedonia, stated that some of the reforms are difficult, but candidates must be willing to do even more work to integrate into the EU.

Kos stated that development is in the hands of candidate countries and they must achieve success for their own good.

Among other things, Kos stressed that she is ready to do everything to enable the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU during her mandate.

“I know some of the reforms are difficult, but you have to be in the league, like us.

Every progress requires political power, and this is what I ask of you.

We want to reward you for the work you've done, but I can give you tools when you implement reforms. I expect tangible change by the next meeting. We will help you build roads, parks, solar photovoltaics, and infrastructure.

Development is in your hands, you must achieve success for your own good.

You need to show that you are ready for more, member states are watching what you are doing.

I talk about successes, we are ready to fight together for a more united Europe.
