Territorial reform should be based on principles, not on bargaining"/

The deputy of the Democratic Party, Oerd Bylykbashi, who is also a member of the Commission for Territorial Reform, stated today that this reform should be based on principles and not on bargains.

He also called on politics to reach a broad consensus.

The forum of the local elected representatives of the DP has been set up, where the local experience of all the elected representatives over the years will be gathered. Our position as chairman is clear to make a difference. Territorial reform should be used and the moment should not be lost because something done badly would take a long time. Our proposal in the framework of the work that is being done, we will base it on well-thought-out studies and proposals financed by international partners. We have the best capacities to deliver quality reform. About 9 months from now we will have the elections, I emphasize that the reform must be consensual and not like 2014 and without consensus. Consensus based on principles and not bargains will bring about a reform so that the local government develops harmoniously', said Bylykbashi./ CNA.al
