The Democratic Party has requested that some changes be made to the draft decisions for the establishment of the Special Commission for Territorial Reform and the Commission for Electoral Reform.

The Democrats have demanded equality between the majority and the opposition in the composition of the committees. They also demand that international institutions be part of the committees with expertise.

DP announcement:

The Democratic Party has requested changes to the decision to establish the Special Commission for Electoral Reform and the Special Commission for Territorial Reform. Referring to parliamentary tradition and the importance of these two reforms, the Democrats are demanding equality between the ruling party and the opposition.

Accordingly, the electoral reform requires that the commission be composed of 16 members, where:

* 8 belong to the Socialist Party,

* 6 Democratic Party,

* and 1 representative from the parliamentary group "Alliance for Change" and the parliamentary group of the Freedom Party.

The same principle is required to be applied to the Special Commission for Territorial Reform. It is also required that international institutions, including the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, be part of the expertise.

Likewise, for specific issues on which the parties do not reach consensus, it is proposed that they be addressed to the Venice Commission and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. /CNA
