Prime Minister Edi Rama held a press conference after today's meeting with the leaders of the Western Balkans, which was held in Tirana.

Rama said that today's meeting was aimed at taking an important step with relations with the EU.

He stated that a new EU financial and economic support plan is being prepared for the Western Balkans.

"I am announcing to inform you that Albania will welcome the first summit of the Berlin Process outside the EU in October and for this we engaged with the chancellery in Germany, but also with other actors so that this summit serves to launch an important step forward in relation to what the Western Balkans has at its base.

The ongoing facilitation of interaction between the countries of the Western Balkans, but also to take an important step with our relations with the EU. And for this second one, we were in Tirana today with Varhely. And that's what we discussed. How long have we been in an effort to promote a new way of seeing things in relation to the Western Balkans in terms of the gap that exists between us and the member countries. Considering not only this consequence and the general context and all the challenges that are shared today. We have tried to create another approach. Which means, in parallel with the negotiation process, to have extra financial and economic support for the countries of the Western Balkans," the head of government emphasized./ CNA.al
