Rama: The US has not banned visas for Albania

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his podcast "Flasim", stated this Sunday that the United States of America has not banned visas for Albania.

Rama's statement comes as this week, the US Department of State announced a suspension of visa processing for 75 countries around the world.

"I want to say two words for those who jumped up, or more precisely, for those who live in a state of upheaval and who, in their persistence, added another leap of the same nature to the leaps: disinformation, distortion of public opinion, poisoning of all those who still have the power to listen, saying that America banned visas for Albania.

This is untrue!

The United States of America has not banned visas for Albania.

The United States of America, the current administration, under the clear orientation of President Trump for a long time regarding the new immigration policy, has decided that for 75 countries around the world, including some Balkan countries, including Kosovo, there will be a temporary suspension of work permits in the United States, not visas to America, but residence permits in America for work, since for this category of countries they have noticed the phenomenon of obtaining a tourist visa, obtaining a business visa and then not respecting the deadlines, but staying there to start a job, and this is something that goes along the completely normal line of President Trump's new policy and that has no connection with all that was said by those who jump up and who, again, when they fall to the ground, will see that the ground on which they stand is always more slippery.

"So, they will get lost deeper and deeper and will jump higher and higher," Rama said. /CNA
