DP MP Eno Bozdo spoke this morning about the waste management situation in the country and the government's new draft law on this issue. Bozdo stated on Syri TV that the government's work on waste management has failed and has further worsened the situation.

"Always the topic of waste. Look, you singled out the news of the violation of local autonomy, and for me, personally, maybe I'm not a lawyer, it's the least that can happen. Because when it comes to waste, we've become worse than in the Middle Ages. The Middle Ages had organic waste in general and it decomposed, while we leave it in piles, we especially like to put it on the shores of the Ionian or Adriatic. Burn it several times during the summer because clean air cannot be without their smoke, not counting those waters that touch the underground, touch the river beds, the sea and the entire ecosystem.

This has been happening for years, at least 14 years. And it's fitting that I, because I held the position of deputy mayor of Tirana, know this sector well because I spent two years working on a project for the management of Sharra's waste, which, after we were providing a solution and were ready to provide a solution, Rama's new government blocked that project, where it was suspended for 1 year, and then the idea of ??a total incinerator happened, which came out without understanding," he said.

Bozdo said, among other things, that in 12 years of government, the Socialist Party has created three dysfunctional incinerators, has poisoned the population and has ruined the image of Albania. The MP stated that SPAK is not reacting to this issue.

"What you see in the insert is important, but for me the most important thing is that this draft law does not solve anything. In 12 years we have 3 incinerators that were not designed, 400 million euros evaporated, a SPAK that is sleeping, the poisoning of the population, the ruin of Albania's image, and we are worse than what we could have been 80 years ago," said Bozdo.

We recall here that SPAK prosecutor Dritan Prençi is the person who has been overseeing the Tirana incinerator file for more than 7 years. Prençi has so far indicted and investigated several officials, from low levels, while bypassing the main responsible parties in this affair. /CNA
