Vlora Prosecution Office seizes over 2 million euros of assets of a citizen

The Vlora Prosecutor's Office has confiscated over 2 million euros of assets belonging to a citizen convicted of the criminal offense of 'Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity'.

Citizen RZ was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months, while his assets already confiscated include land, apartments, arable land, a basement and a car.

Announcement:

At the request of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, over 2 million euros of assets belonging to citizen RZ, accused and found guilty of the criminal offense of 'Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity' provided for by Article 287 of the Criminal Code, were confiscated.

At the conclusion of the investigations into criminal proceedings no. 1922, of 2019, the request of the Prosecutor's Office was accepted by the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Vlora, deciding:

– The guilty plea of ??the defendant R. Z for committing the criminal offense of “Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity”, provided for in Article 287, points (a), (b), (c) of the Criminal Code, and his sentence under this provision to 7 years of imprisonment;

In application of Article 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the sentence is reduced by 1/3 (one third), definitively sentencing the defendant RZ to 4 years and 8 months;

Confiscation of assets as follows:

– Immovable property, of the “Unit” type, with no. 54/9-19, with a total surface area of ??70m2, vol. 31, p. 87, cadastral zone 8605, located in Vlora, owned by citizen RZ;

– Immovable property of the type “Unit”, with no. 54/9-18, with a total area of ??50m2, VOL.31, p.86, cadastral zone with no. 8605, located in Vlora, owned by citizen RZ;

– Immovable property of the type “Apartment”, with property no. 49/41 + 1-1, vol.31, page 180, with a surface area of ??159m2, located in the “Kushtrimi” neighborhood, Vlora, owned by citizen VZ;

– Immovable property of the type “Arable land”, with property no. 105/13, vol.2, p.19, with a surface area of ??5000m2, cadastral area no. 2838, in co-ownership of citizens SZ, LZ, EZ, RZ, VZ etc.;

– Immovable property of the type “Plot”, with property no. 49/41-T, with a surface area of ??105m2, vol.34, p. 117, cadastral zone no. 8605, located in the “Kushtrimi” neighborhood, Vlora, co-owned by citizens VZ and AM;

– Immovable property of the type “Apartment”, with property no. 49+41+1-2, with a surface area of ??171m2, vol.31, p. 191, cadastral zone no. 8605, “Kushtrimi” neighborhood, Vlora, in co-ownership of citizens VZ and AM;

– Immovable property of the “Bodrum” type, with property no. 49-41-B, surface area of ??181m2, volume 31, page 179, cadastral zone no. 8605, “Kushtrimi” neighborhood, Vlora, co-owned by citizens VZ and AM;

– Immovable property “4-storey addition”, built on the basis of construction permit no. 2/446 dated 28/09/2011, co-owned by citizens VZ and AM; and

– BMW brand vehicle, GM730D, owned by citizen RZ /CNA
