The European Union Delegation to Albania shared a message a few minutes ago, as the new Head of SPAK, Klodjan Braho, took office this Monday morning.

Through a post on social media, the EU wishes Braho success, while also expressing appreciation for the Special Structure for its resilience in the face of political pressures.

In the message, the EU also shares an assessment of Altin Dumani, who is now succeeded in office by Braho.

"The EU Delegation to Albania congratulates Klodian Braho on taking office today as Head of SPAK and wishes him success in this important role for the country.

At the same time, we commend SPAK for its resilience in the face of political pressures, as well as for the determination and integrity shown by the previous Chief Prosecutor, Altin Dumani. Under his leadership, SPAK made strides forward in the fight against high-level corruption and contributed to strengthening public trust in justice.

The fight against corruption and impunity, as well as respect for the rule of law, are the shared responsibility of all key institutions and an essential element of Albania’s path towards EU membership—a path supported by the overwhelming majority of Albanian citizens. We call on all institutions to fully exercise their role, fulfill their responsibilities, and cooperate without reservation to ensure accountability, for the benefit of all citizens.
